At Lina Point
The Mayan is Lina Point's signature overwater restaurant, designed to honor ancient Maya. Guests arrive by golf cart across the bridge and ascend dramatic stairs representing Xibalba, then rise through the roots of the sacred Ceiba tree into a second-floor dining room centered around an illuminated Ceiba hand-crafted by Maya artisans.

Mexico Rocks sits on a shallow limestone ridge about six miles north of San Pedro — the same stretch of water Carpe Diem calls home. You snorkel over brain coral, sea fans, and scattered heads. Typical sightings: turtles, nurse sharks, rays, and reef fish in water that stays calmer than the cut at Hol Chan. Small boat, licensed guide, briefing before you're in. Best for first-time snorkelers, families, and north-island stays who don't want a long ride south — this is a patch-reef swim, not a drift through a cut.
By request · Time varies · $71 USD
Two stops on one morning. First the Hol Chan cut — a natural channel through the reef where the shallow garden drops into deeper blue and fish use it like a highway. Second, Shark Ray Alley, where nurse sharks and southern stingrays gather in the sand. Carpe Diem runs this as a small-group boat with a licensed guide. It's the busier of their two half-day snorkels — if you want fewer boats and a shorter ride from a north stay, book Mexico Rocks instead. This site sits south of town, so north-hotel guests should expect boat time or a pickup quote, not a $0 north-route collection.
By request · Time varies · $91 USD
A half-day run toward Caye Caulker to look for manatees in the seagrass. Sightings are wild animals, not a guarantee — Carpe Diem works the known feeding areas and will not chase or crowd an animal. If the water is clear they usually add a snorkel stop on the way. Good for guests who want wildlife more than a reef circus. Not ideal in very rough weather. This is a crossing, not a 20-minute local hop — allow extra time.
By request · Time varies · $134 USD
Start at Hol Chan / Shark Ray, then run south to Caye Caulker for a second water stop and island time. This is the long snorkel day on Carpe Diem's sheet — not a private BBQ and not a sail. If two marine reserves are entered, the guest pays both park fees in cash that morning. Good for guests who want one full water day instead of two half days — comfortable on a boat for most of the day.
By request · Time varies · $190 USD
A combo dive on Mexico Rocks — one tank, north side, short run from Portofino. Tanks and weights stay with the tour; a BCD, regulator, or wetsuit is about $30 cash if needed. Good first Ambergris dive if you already hold a certification and want an easy site rather than the Hol Chan cut. Certified divers only — referral students should use the Open Water Referral listing instead.
By request · Time varies · $106 USD
A single-tank dive inside Hol Chan. The cut is the reason most visitors dive Ambergris: a channel through the reef with bigger fish movement than the patch sites. Tanks and weights are in the tour price; full kit is cash on the day. This site is south of town — north-hotel guests should plan dock time or a pickup quote. Certified divers who want the reserve, not the north patch.
By request · Time varies · $113 USD
Two tanks on the local barrier reef. Carpe Diem chooses the sites on the day — Mexico Rocks, Tres Cocos, Tackle Box, or Hol Chan depending on wind and who's on the boat. Tanks and weights included; full kit is cash. This is the listing to use when a certified guest says "just take me diving." Night dive and courses are separate listings.
By request · Time varies · $108 USD
A longer local day — three tanks, no Lighthouse Reef crossing. Carpe Diem does not run the Blue Hole on this sheet; if a guest wants the Hole, we switch operators. Bring extra water and a snack — surface intervals are on the boat. Certified divers with recent bottom time. Not a beginner day.
By request · Time varies · $150 USD
Night dives run when the boat and a guide are free and the weather is clean. Expect a briefing on lights and buddy discipline; tanks and weights included. Minimums apply, and Carpe Diem reconfirms 48 hours out. For certified divers who've dived recently — this is not a first-ever dive, and Open Water students should use their course night dive instead of this listing.
By request · Time varies · $141 USD
A private 1–4 person boat. Morning on the reef for snapper, grouper, and whatever's running — the crew handles rods and bait. Catch is cooked on the beach: ceviche and grilled fish when the box is full, and they'll make sure there's enough to eat if the bite is slow. For families and couples who want a full private day, not a shared snorkel boat. Price is flat for the boat (1–4 guests) — a 5th guest is $83 extra (tax included), confirmed with Carpe Diem before adding.
By request · Time varies · $984 USD
Four hours on the local reef with rods and bait on the boat. Private for one to four guests. This is not fly fishing and not deep sea — if they want the catch cooked, move to Hook & Cook instead. For guests with one free morning; kids do well on a short reef trip. Price is flat for the boat (1–4 guests) — a 5th guest is $83 extra (tax included).
By request · Time varies · $541 USD
The longer reef charter. Same private 1–4 setup, more time to move if a spot is quiet. Pack lunch unless Carpe Diem is cooking. For anglers who want a full day without paying deep-sea rates. Price is flat for the boat (1–4 guests) — a 5th guest is $83 extra (tax included).
By request · Time varies · $844 USD
The boat leaves the inside reef and works blue water — conditions decide the catch more than the brochure. Four-person starting group. For guests who can handle a bigger swell; not a first activity after a heavy night. Price is flat for the boat (1–4 guests) — a 5th guest is $111 extra (tax included).
By request · Time varies · $1019 USD
The long offshore day. Sheet says 4 persons max — if a fifth guest appears, confirm with Carpe Diem before taking the money; the extra-person line on other listings does not automatically override this cap. Pack lunch, water, and motion tablets. For serious offshore guests, not a family first-fish trip — use the reef half-day for that.
By request · Time varies · $1406 USD
A PADI-style refresher at Carpe Diem's north base (Portofino, 6 miles north). Confined-water skills first, then a supervised dive if you're ready. Carpe Diem's sheet prices this with gear included, but until they confirm that in writing, this listing still discloses cash park and approximate kit so the guest is never surprised at the dock. Already-certified divers whose last dive was months or years ago.
By request · Time varies · $246 USD
PADI Discover Scuba at the north dock. Pool or confined water to learn the basics, then a shallow reef dive with an instructor. You don't finish as a certified diver — if they love it, the next step is Scuba Diver or Open Water. Minimum age and a medical form apply. Anyone who answers yes on the RSTC medical needs a doctor's stamp before getting in. For non-divers who want one real dive.
By request · Time varies · $281 USD
Bring the referral paperwork from your home shop. Carpe Diem runs the four open-water dives on the north reef so you can finish Open Water in Belize — this is not a from-scratch course. Paperwork must be valid; most referrals expire at six or twelve months, so check before you sell the date. For students with a live Open Water referral only.
By request · Time varies · $563 USD
PADI Scuba Diver is the first half of Open Water — knowledge work plus two open-water dives. The card lets you dive only with a professional, to 12 metres. Guests who want independence should book Open Water Certification instead. Multi-day — confirm how many park days apply. For short-stay guests who won't finish four dives.
By request · Time varies · $528 USD
Open Water at Carpe Diem's north shop. Knowledge development, confined water, then four open-water dives on the local reef. This is the course to sell when a guest wants to leave Belize as a diver. Block three or four days — do not stack against a 6 a.m. mainland tour. Medical form first. For non-divers with three or four clear days who are comfortable swimmers.
By request · Time varies · $703 USD
Advanced Open Water with Carpe Diem. Deep and Underwater Navigation are required; the other three dives are chosen with the instructor (night, peak performance buoyancy, wreck if a local wreck is in play, fish ID). You must already hold Open Water — bring the card. For Open Water divers who want more range, not a first certification.
